![]() Please post any questions about LU-mode in this thread. The new tools should be fairly intuitive to use. By holding the mouse pointer over a color, a sub-menu will also expand showing all the sub-colors. Color palette tool – allows you to select any color. Color picker tool, allows you to pick a color from any other brick in the scene (“scene” is LDD-lingo for the area on screen where you place the bricks and build your models) Decoration tool, allows you to “paint” decoration on those bricks that will allow it. ![]() There is a slightly different user interface in LU-mode with some additional tools. TIP: If you already have a model made in another mode and want to convert it to LU-mode, use the View > New Themes > Lego Universe LU-mode will show up as a new tab in the welcome screen. With LU-mode you get access to all the 1400+ bricks in LDD. All these additional bricks have actually been available for quite some time in LDD for designers of Lego Universe through something called Lego Universe Mode.Īfter a fruitful dialogue with the LDD development team at Lego, access to LU-mode is now available to all LDD fans. LU Mode - More bricks and better overviewĪs you may know, there are a lot more bricks in the LDD database installed on your computer than you could actually see in the normal DesignByMe/Mindstorm/Creator mode. ![]() Made available by Lego especially for the fan community! Īlso, further development of LDD was stopped though it still is available for download.Īnd while I don't use it myself, I've read good things about playonlinux, which is kind of a graphical frontend for Wine. Either I got something wrong or there's some kind of regression, the report in the AppDB which rated LDD "gold" was made in 2017 using wine 1.6. Though I've followed those instructions all I got for my trouble was a quick flash of a window popping up followed by a segmentation fault. The entry for this program in the Wine-AppDB has a few things to say about it: it says to use a 32-bit Wineprefix and to install Adobe Flash into that prefix using winetricks. So what you'd do would be something like 'cd ~/Downloads wine setupldd-pc-4_3_12.exe' (replace the directory where you put the installer for ~/Downloads and the actual name of your installer for setupldd-pc-4_3_12.exe) and you'd end up with a shortcut on the desktop and in the Menu (or whatever else your Desktop Environment offers ). desktop-file for running the installed program with wine. I normally start installers from the command line the calls that an Installer makes to the Windows-API to create menu-items get translated into the creation of a. Since wine is (somewhat) useless without programs written for Windows and doesn't have a graphical UI, it does not show up in the GUI.
